I myself am a CVS girl, but I did want to let Rite Aid fans know that I heard a reliable rumor that the Hope St. Rite Aid is closing on Jan. 17. That's the one across from my Hope St. NYSC. I went in once to buy wrapping paper. I wonder what will take over that building if it closes...
Hope St. is a surprisingly active area, gossip-wise. Fireside burnt down--arson!--, a suspicious package/jug of pee had to be investigated by cops... I might just try to stick to the Bull's Head/Newfield area. The bagels at Liz Sue in Bull's Head do trump the bagels at Village Bagel on Hope St.

yeah. we had a story about it last week.
Anyway, as a former resident of that neighborhood, I was not really happy when the grocery story closed and YET ANOTHER CVS opened in its place, especially since the Rite Aid was next door.
Unrelated, but the Blue Rooster Cafe (I think that's what it was called?) closed Downtown. Looks like a specialty Italian grocery is opening there...at least that's what it looks like.
Whoa ... The Advocate scooped Stamford Talk for once. I'd fire your reliable source ;-).
I have been expecting the Blue Rooster to close since it reopened under new management. First, They tried to sneak the opening past the health Department. Then they did not have much business and they were just a sandwich shop with a much better one 2 doors down.
This is probably old hat but Blue Tulip in Goodwives, Darien, is also closing. Picked up a couple of bargains there on Saturday.
Um, toots, the "rumor" was actually a story published in the Advocate. :-)
One more piece of info on the Blue Rooster, the replacement is Esposito's deli. I wonder if Stan is running it?"
Why are we talking about Blue Rooster and Rite Aid when the chef from NAPA CO. was on MARTHA STEWART last week, and she says ON HER SHOW that she's gonna try to get a table for Saturday?
So. Is this thing still on?
(I know you're busy infanticipating)
