Starbucks Really is Leaving Me

Today I was really, really tired. I got motivated to go to the grocery store with the idea that I could grab a latte at the Starbucks inside the Super Stop and Shop. After wrapping up in the dairy and frozen food, I headed back to the Starbucks near the produce and entrance. IT WAS GONE. The Starbucks was gone. The chairs and tables were there, but the coffee-making area was full of boxes. "I'm not going to freak out," I muttered to the baby. (It's a testament to my fatigue level that I didn't notice it when I was IN the produce area upon entering the store.)

I had heard that the Ridgeway Starbucks (on Summer St., right by LA Fitness and Old Navy) was closing, but the SSS closing was a shocker to me. On reflection, the SSS was much less busy that the Ridgeway one, so it makes sense. Still, that didn't help my tired and grumpy mood.

I guess we're left with High Ridge and Ferguson Library locations. Well, Starbucks, it was nice having you so close to me, but now that's over. First the Newfield, now this. We doubted that Stamford was a five Starbucks town, and we were right. There may be another Starbucks I'm forgetting, but the baby is fussing, so I gotta run!

There's also a Starbucks in the mall. Not that it's any more convenient than High Ridge or Ferguson, but it's there (for now).

Mrs. Z insists that the Ridgeway Starbucks on Summer St. is still open, so apparently my sources about that particular Starbucks were mistaken.

Never trust the Internet.

Never fear. The Ridgeway Starbucks was just slightly renovated over the past 3 weeks. I don't think it's going anywhere.

YES!!! That is good news, since the Ridgeway 'Bucks is on my way to work. WHEW!!!!! What would I do without you guys?

I'm with you! It is very disappointing to me that the S&S Starbucks has closed ! I saw it was missing but I figured maybe renovation and did not ask. Now I'm sad! Food shopping was always more tolerable while sipping a latte!

Does the Ridgeway SS&S now have no coffee operations at all? Pre-Starbucks, they had a pretty decent Green Mountain station setup near the bakery. I'd just assumed something like that would come back if Starbucks was out.

Otherwise, those cupholders in the shopping carts will simply exist to taunt us.

If you had read the popular local blog Streets of Stamford, you would've saved yourself the trouble and heartbreak:

OK, mall and Target! I knew I would be forgetting something.
Streets of Stamford, I vaguely recalled a post about Starbucks on another blog, but with the haze I am in, I thought I recalled it saying that the Ridgeway/Summer St. one was closing!
That's why I needed the latte- to wake up my brain.

I am *obsessed* with this thing. Next time you want a Starbucks come over and I will make you a double vanilla grande latte or whatever - I guarantee you will want to get this thing it pays for itself.

There are Starbucks in Stamford: 1) Ferguson Library (always seem to just locking up when I get there) 2)In the mall 3)In the Barnes & Noble at the mall 4) At Target and I guess 5) still at Ridgeway.

Wasn't one going to open at a new shopping center near exit 6 of I-95? Has that happened yet?

My husband thought he was going crazy when he came back from his second trip to that Stop n Shop and said to me that he swore that he saw a Starbucks in the S&S. Now I can tell him that he wasn't dreaming after all. Now I really need a coffee!
