Watch Out for Trump Crane on Sunday, Stamford!

I am almost- almost!!!!- tempted to go watch them raise the Trump Crane this weekend. That's what they were doing to that crane in NYC when it collapsed in May. According to the Stamford Times, roads around the site will be closed from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. this Sunday.

Don't plan on driving on Broad or Washington, and watch your head if you are anywhere in the area. I wouldn't go shopping at Target on Sunday if I were you, nor would I picnic in Mill River Park, just in case. I do not trust that construction site.

Visit my flickr site to see my pics of Stamford's cranes over the past 8 months.

By the way, here is a pic of the littlest crane in Stamford:

It's building something near Greyrock Place, I think. I feel better about this crane since it's half the size of the Trump one.

Isn't that the crane on top of the Avalon overlooking the Highgrove site? They are under tremendous pressure to deliver as the Trump structure is almost up and the Higgrove has been sitting around for -3yrs.

Hmmm that is pretty good gossip. Do you know why the HighGrove is taking so long to build? The crane looks just hideous there.

In fact, the whole city is looking pretty hideous these days, what with all the cranes and empty lots on main roads (the rock-filled one on Wash Blvde, the grassy hole by the mall, and... what's the other one? There is a 3rd somewhere, I think).

We got our Target fix in today, thanks for the tip.

You might also be interested to learn that it appears that condo/retail development that's going up at East Main & Glenbrook has been issued a Stop Work Order for what appears to be 3 violations. I have no details on the violations, though they are posted at the site (I didn't feel like getting out of the car)

Highgrove - Rumor has it something to do with bank financing due to poor sales..no kidding at 1.2mm+ per condo, I can't imagine who or why no matter who it was designed by or what amenities it has.

Too much high-end capacity in decidedly low end stamford spells disaster for the builders and those who buy in on a wing and prayer.
